Hello there, I'm Robert, an integrative therapist with a multitude of experience. I am able to work with a wide range of people and have specialist training in LGBTQ issues.
Thrive is thrilled to include functional aromatherapy during client work and to work with Roxanne who is a huge inspiration.
As a licensed therapist in the UK with over 5 years of professional experience in both the NHS and private practice, I am dedicated to helping you navigate life's challenges. My approach integrates the best of several therapeutic disciplines, including CBT and REBT, which have proven highly effective in treating anxiety.
My expertise mainly centres around anxiety, self-esteem, ADHD, attachment issues and overcoming abuse. But therapy is about much more than just talking through your problems. It's about building a trusting relationship with a caring, attuned therapist who can help you discover new ways to solve problems, heal old wounds, and transform your life.
Supporting hundreds of clients over the years has been an immense privilege, and I am deeply passionate about guiding people through the emotional impact of relationship struggles, anxiety, loss, and major life transitions like divorce or separation. Therapy has the power to heal, reconnect, and propel you towards a happier, more fulfilling life.
My clients often tell me that my warmth and sense of humour make the counselling process more comfortable and approachable. Sometimes, all it takes is one person to believe in us when we can't believe in ourselves. Let's take that journey together.

Robert is an former director of a nationally recognised leisure business. After many successful years developing the business, a period of extreme stress led to serious health concerns . Having volunteered for charities such as MIND as a telephone and face to face counsellor, Robert took the decision to take a step back from the business world and has formalised his position as a counsellor. Robert is trained as an integrative therapist, which means that he is able to work in the way that is most suitable for his client. Robert generally describes his methodology as ”Humanistic with a Humouristic twist”.

Roxanne of Remedy is a body positive, age inclusive Holistic Therapist specialising in aromatherapy massage. Roxanne focuses on mental health just as much as physical wellbeing and seeks to create safe and meaningful relationships with clients to support them therapeutically. Treatments include full medical consultations, personalised routines and thoughtful aftercare advice. Roxanne has a background in counselling, support work and addiction recovery which all help her to have insight, understanding and unconditional positive regard towards her clients, facilitating their personal growth and empowerment.
As a Light Worker Roxanne's mission is to share the benefit of her experience in overcoming many challenges and to offer forbearance, kindness and healing touch.
Roxanne is qualified in Anatomy, Pathology & Physiology, Aromatherapy Massage, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Holistic Face Lift Massage and NCFE Counselling Skills.

Q. How long is a session?
Each session is one hour.
Q. I tried CBT and it didn't help me, what can I do?
CBT is just one of the techniques that we are able to use, there are many, many more and not every approach suits everybody. We tailor our approach to fit with who you are and what you need as an individual.
Q. What does a typical session look like?
It is very different for everyone. It begins with talking and us getting to know more about you. We go at your pace and don't 'pry' or 'force' you to talk about anything. Some people prefer a directed and structured approach with goals being set and other people prefer to talk and explore what comes out and bring dreams, spirituality or any other issues into the 'room'.
How long will I need therapy for?
For as many (or few) sessions as you feel suits you. There is no minimum number of sessions set by Thrive. Some people only need a few and others might be working for over a year. We review our work regularly to ensure that you are getting the best from sessions. Ultimately you are the expert on yourself!
